It’s Christmas time

Sing along!

I am sharing today this song that was once part of the Christmas workshops prepared by both my group and myself.

The song chosen for this workshop was Do they know it’s Christmas by Ban Aid. In 2014 the United Nations had contacted them, saying help was urgently needed to prevent the 2014 Ebola crisis in Western Africa spreading throughout the world.

PROCEDURE: introduce the song and some of the events related to it, then tell the students you are going to ask them to please get up and group like in the video. The are invited to sing in turns: altogether, male voices only or female voices only following the instructions with the lyrics. The students will not only improve their attention to what is happening, as they will need to know when is their turn, but also experience the feeling of coexistence and connection.

one’s voice can say

a lot about the person

A little interesting note: you don’t have to be a great singer to participate in this activity. Projecting your voice may be related to how you connect with your inner self. The more aware and connected you are to do a deep diaphragmatic belly breathing the clearer and easy your voice will come out. Singing out aloud is not needed! Try «whispering» and just connecting to your breathing.
